The power of Annual Giving helped launch Princeton’s pioneering no-loan financial aid program in 2001. Annual Giving continues to strengthen the financial aid program and graduate fellowships, so that all students can not only afford a Princeton education but can flourish while on campus and beyond.
Princeton's faculty members are not only world-class scholars and researchers, but also highly involved teachers committed to working closely with students at all levels, from first-year seminars to senior theses to graduate work. Annual Giving provides critical support enabling the University to attract and retain exceptionally talented scholar-teachers.
Annual Giving provides vital seed funds to establish innovative initiatives before permanent funding is in place. For example, the new Learning and Education through Service (LENS) initiative, which offers every Princeton student the opportunity to spend a summer focused on service and social impact work with a paid internship during their time at Princeton, was launched in October 2022.
Annual Giving support also enabled Princeton to fund special expenditures such as opening a COVID-19 testing laboratory to support its comprehensive testing program for the campus community, enabling our University to fulfill its mission of in-person residential teaching and learning.
Annual Giving provides all Princetonians with an opportunity to strengthen the University's excellence for the students of today and tomorrow, just as earlier generations demonstrated in the past.
86.6 percent of all living undergraduate alumni have participated in Annual Giving at least once since graduating.
Graduate alumni have raised $42.3 million in total for Princeton through Annual Giving.
2,068 parents raised $ $2,043,502 last year to support Annual Giving.
